AdBlue Delete & SCR Repair
Proper SCR diagnosis, sensor replacement and dosing-system repair for road-registered vehicles. Full electronic AdBlue delete for off-road, motorsport, agricultural and export-only vehicles — at a fraction of the dealership's replacement cost.
What AdBlue / SCR actually does
AdBlue is a liquid made of urea and purified water. Its job is to clean exhaust gases so harmful emissions don't reach the atmosphere — it's injected into the NOx-rich exhaust stream where it reacts inside the SCR catalyst, producing harmless nitrogen and water vapour. SCR is now standard on modern diesel buses, trucks and passenger cars; ignoring scheduled servicing of these systems can lead to expensive mechanical problems.
AdBlue limp mode
Limp-mode is the SCR system's way of enforcing emission standards. Multiple sensors track NOx levels, AdBlue quality, dosing rate and catalyst temperature at every stage of operation. If any of those sensors detect a violation — a leak, a failed dosing pump, a contaminated NOx sensor, low-quality urea — the ECU will trigger a countdown and eventually restrict engine speed.
Common AdBlue / SCR problems
- SCR systems can suffer severe damage if vehicles operate without adequate AdBlue supply, compromising overall system integrity
- Damaged SCR components escalate repair expenses dramatically — annual maintenance can run into thousands
- High-mileage vehicles consume substantial AdBlue and need frequent refills — increasingly expensive on long-distance routes
- NOx sensor and urea-injector failures are the most common dealer warranty claim on Euro 5/6 diesels
How we solve it
Most repair workshops and dealerships replace failed AdBlue components — average cost around $5,000 by the time the work is finished. Working with our partner Hi-Tech Automotive, we can fix the underlying fault on almost every car or truck with AdBlue problems for a fraction of that — and most jobs are completed same-day. For off-road and export-only vehicles we offer full electronic AdBlue delete with ECU recalibration.

AdBlue / SCR — common questions
What actually is AdBlue and what does the SCR system do? +
AdBlue is a urea-and-purified-water solution used by modern diesel engines to clean exhaust gases. It is injected into the exhaust stream and reacts with NOx in the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalyst, breaking it down into harmless nitrogen and water. AdBlue / SCR is standard equipment on most Euro 5 and Euro 6 diesel buses, trucks and passenger cars.
Why does my AdBlue warning / countdown keep showing? +
Limp-mode kicks in when emission standards are violated — usually because of a faulty sensor, NOx sensor, urea injector, heater, dosing pump or quality sensor. Multiple sensors monitor the SCR system at every stage; any one of them failing can trigger the countdown.
How much does it cost to fix at the dealer? +
Replacement of faulty AdBlue / SCR components at a dealership commonly runs around $5,000 by the time labour, replacement modules, sensors and fluid are accounted for. We can fix the underlying fault for a fraction of that on most vehicles.
Is an AdBlue delete legal in Australia? +
No, not on a road-registered vehicle. AdBlue / SCR delete is restricted to off-road, motorsport, agricultural and export-only vehicles. For road cars we offer full SCR diagnosis, sensor replacement, dosing-pump repair and emulator-free legal fixes.
Do I have to keep buying AdBlue forever? +
High-mileage drivers consume substantial amounts of AdBlue and need to refill regularly. The factory SCR system is designed to operate that way — a working system needs the fluid. The right answer to "I keep running out" is usually upgrading your refill habit, not deleting the system.
Same-day service? +
For most vehicles, yes — most AdBlue / SCR jobs are completed in a single day at our Mascot workshop. Call 02 8880 9181 with your make, model and year for a quote.
AdBlue countdown active? Limp-mode hitting?
Most AdBlue / SCR faults can be repaired for far less than dealer pricing. Get your car back to normal — same day in most cases.
